Paul Hotchkiss

Paul is a Chartered Certified Accountant; a Chartered Tax Advisor, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the institute of directors. In 2008 Paul was elected to be the inaugural Chairman of the newly formed Isle of Man branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and he is the Chairman of the Isle of Man Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Paul specialises in Private Client tax advice for wealthy families and individuals.  He advises on such diverse matters as residence, domicile, investment structures, succession and wealth preservation.  His experience covers UK income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, SDLT and the interpretation and use of double tax treaties. In addition he is also very involved in assisting clients make disclosures as appropriate to regularise their tax affairs to HMRC and other tax authorities where necessary.

He oversees a very busy tax practice that also deals with tax advice to funds, international businesses and executives, VAT and transfer pricing matters. The practice also deals with international tax matters through network of contacts throughout the world, as well as tax reporting, compliance and HMRC investigations and disclosures.

Paul is a regular contributor to periodicals on tax-related matters and is consulted regularly on tax matters by the media.

Paul is a former tax partner in KPMG and historically Paul was involved in a wide variety of industries and companies, including boutique tax service providers, trust companies, manufacturing and shipping. As such he has gained a significant amount of commercial experience which he brings to the provision of any advice which is provided.
